✅ Important Timeline
You must complete the written tests for both D and Z class licences a minimum of 30 days prior to your classroom session. Once you have completed your written test, contact us and we will book your in-class course. Written tests are completed at any DriveTest location across Ontario.
Once your written tests are complete and verified, we’ll schedule your two-day, firefighter-led in-class training. During this phase, you’ll learn:
Following your in-class training, you’ll book 4 hours of on-road driver training with your instructor. These one-on-one sessions focus on mastering the techniques required to safely operate large vehicles and pass your road test. Once your driving hours are completed, FireRoute will book your group road test with the MTO.
Visit the Course Calendar and head to the Contact Us page to register for our next session. We're proud to train the next generation of firefighter drivers—by firefighters, for firefighters.
